"Our school has a positive vibe. We do lots of hands-on activities and we learn about all sorts of science topics." - Crosby, Grade 4
Mauro-Sheridan Science, Technology & Communications Interdistrict
We are Mauro-Sheridan where together we achieve the extraordinary
Our school is an exciting, positive and caring place where all children are challenged to work at their highest level. We love getting to know each other through hands-on projects and learning challenges that complement the spirit of inquiry at MASH. We celebrate science, technology and communications: our magnet themes enrich our teaching and learning. We ask big questions, embrace challenges and think outside the box. We are performers, artists and musicians; we are scientists, engineers and mathematicians. Our students develop and grow a great deal over the course of the year. It is wonderful to watch them expand their knowledge and prepare for the future!
How to know our school is right for your child:
-
Your child is curious and asks questions about science and the natural world.
-
Your child is interested in communicating ideas and learning from others.
-
Your child is eager to use technology for problem-solving and creating change.
About Our Theme:
-
Science, technology and communications shape our magnet program. Teachers draw on the themes to integrate across the curriculum for lessons that link learning with the real world. Students work together, craft meaningful questions, investigate problems, design solutions, communicate ideas and acknowledge and embrace diversity. Science comes to life for students in our hands-on labs, our discovery classes and our enrichments. Interdisciplinary studies and school-wide activities enrich school life with shared experiences. Technology engages students in video production, engineering design and robotics; we celebrate role models in science whose diversity inspires our kids. Student performances in drama, music and the arts promote communication skills as do world languages and community events. Our students work together to understand their shared responsibility to the future.
